The 17th Annual Greening Up the Mountains festival is set for April 26, 2014 in downtown Sylva - 10:00a - 5:00p
This annual spring festival, named for the way spring creeps up the mountain sides, began over a decade ago as a celebration of Earth Day. 
A project of the Town of Sylva, this is Sylva's largest annual event, and brings 10-12,000 residents, visitors, and families to our beautiful downtown. Strengthened by its early roots as an Earth Day celebration, the festival includes a focus on environmental protection, sustainability, and promotion of local businesses and civic groups.

The festival will be held on Main & Mill Streets, plus Bridge Park.  The celebration will include a 5K run, two music stages, a children’s stage, talent show, craft demonstrations, kids’ activities, food, and more!  Vendors at the festival will include local artisans, community organizations, children’s activities, environmental education groups,  youth talent contest and food vendors.
Be sure to stop by the farmer's market for some fresh, locally grown goodness! 

Two music stages will host live, local music all day, and a children's stage will feature Jackson County's youngest performers.
