Silver Run Falls, just 4 miles South of Cashiers, NC are a great set of falls for the entire family to enjoy. This area on Silver Run Creek offers a great place to cool down on a hot summer day for kids and adults alike. Access the falls via a short trail through a wooded area, crossing one footbridge and finding yourself at the bottom of the falls and a large plunge pool. Take the whole family to this popular swimming hole in the summer months for an outdoor adventure.
Tip: Be very careful when trying to park at the small gravel parking area on the side of NC Hwy-107. The area is narrow and the edge of the highway creates a significant drop-off into the gravel (the quality of this parking area fluctuates during the 'season') . You'll want to be careful with small children in the parking area due to the speed limit on this section of NC Hwy-107, it's 55 mph but feels more like 70 mph when watching traffic go by.
We recommend this waterfall/hike area due to the ease of access just outside of Cashiers and the family friendly environment it provides (once out of the parking area!).
So, bring a towel, river shoes and a camera to capture an afternoon of fun at Silver Run Falls, just 4 miles South of Cashiers.
From the main intersection of U.S. Hwy 64 & N.C. Hwy 107 in Cashiers, NC, go South on N.C. Hwy 107 (Towards S.C.) for approx. 4 miles to the narrow, gravel pull-off/parking on your Left.
