Cashiers NC Activities

Cashiers North Carolina is located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains and there are ample Cashiers NC Activities in the area. When planning a trip to Cashiers you should first check out "Stay And Play In The Smokies." Our staff at "Stay And Play" are from the area, so we're naturally more equipped to map out your ultimate Smoky Mountain Vacation filled with the activities you know and love.

While in Cashiers you'll want to pack your fishing pole and cast your lines into some of the best fishing in the area. If visiting in the Spring or Fall, the Chattooga River and Whitewater River are primed and ready. The wild brown trout put up a grand fight, but are worth the effort when you snag yourself dinner. Summertime sees more rainbows in the river, but anglers are still seen on the banks. If you desire a more "catch-and-release" style experience be sure to visit the Tuckaseigee River from October 1 through the first Saturday in June.

Mountain Biking is gaining in popularity throughout the southeastern United States. Not only does it provide the rider with an intense workout, but it also grants the rider an unparallel atmosphere of beauty. The Tsali Recreation Area runs around Fontana Lake at the feet of the Great Smoky Mountains and offers a fast and undulating single track. The DuPont State Forest is roughly an hour from Cashier's but has an assortment of trails open to mountain biking.

If you're looking for Cheep Vacations In The Smokies without a cheap experience take route on one of the many hiking trails in the Cashier's area. Find the awe-inspiring waterfalls of Drift, Turtleback and Rainbow from the Horsepasture River waterfalls hike. Each are located a moderate hike from the parking area. In the Panthertown Valley be sure to walk the Little Green Mountain and Salt Rock trails. The forest in this area is beautiful and the views are stunning with the price of an "easier" hike than most.

In the summer don't hesitate to visit one of the great swimming areas around Cashiers. In Panthertown Valley the Sandbar Pool and Schoolhouse Falls are excellent places to cool off and get wet. Another extremely popular area is Sliding Rock. Creating a natural "water slide" visitors and residents alike fill the sides of this local attraction to slide down the rock face and into the brisk mountain waters below. Providing the water isn't too high Turtleback Falls is also a fun place to swim, but be warned, if water levels are too high you can be swept down stream and over the edge of the 150 foot drop of Rainbow Falls.
